We are now at the wall that separates the road from the Loriga country estate. Here there is a garden and forest which were created between the 18th century and the 19th. It is one of the many gardens that characterise the county of As Mariñas which, owing to its historical conditions and to its mild geography, has a rich patrimony related to its numerous country estates and homes of the bourgeoisie.

These gardens were developed in the 18th century in the illustrated context of the return to the countryside, disorganisation of the society of the old regime and the appearance of a romantic sensibility. They are an evolution from the domestic vegetable patches in a moment in which one social class sees an aesthetic pleasure and in the garden is an element of prestige and social distinction.

These gardens used to copy French style, structure and geometry. There were also gardens that followed English, wilder, style but they have a lesser presence. In many of them, water played an important role, as a result, it is easy to find ponds, fountains and other constructs related to this element of nature. Fountains can be found as much on the inside of the enclosures of the estates as sculptures and ornaments, for the exclusive use and enjoyment of those that live there; as well as outside (there is such a fountain in front of the entrance to the Drozo country estate), that were used by the people from the villages and could serve as drinking fountains for the animals. Exotic plants are also habitual.
